Allan is an accomplished senior human resources practitioner with an in-depth understanding of labour relations, team building and the ability to build collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve desired business outcomes. Between his corporate work and lecturing engagements, Allan has established himself as a strategic HR partner who understands the business side of things without compromising the people side. Both his listening skills and executive coaching have earned him an impressive reputation as a valued business partner and mentor.

 

For over 20 years Allan has worked with key stakeholders including unions to achieve significant change both in the private sector with Enbridge, and in the public sector with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Having accumulated extensive experience working in labour relations and practising interest-based relationship with union representatives. Allan further refined his skills and upgraded his understanding of labour relations through teaching. One of his passions is transferring knowledge to his co-workers and more recently to college students at both George Brown College and Sheridan College where he taught a number of HR courses including Organizational Behaviour and Industrial Relations.

 

Allan received his degree from the University of Western Ontario. He also holds Certificates in Advanced Program in Human Resources from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Managing Organizational Change from the Niagara Institute and an Advanced Certificate in Alternate Dispute Resolution. Allan achieved his Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) from the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPA).
