Sumiko is an intercultural strategist and business coach with primary areas of focus in intercultural effectiveness, organizational culture change, diversity and inclusion, and career/life transition. Sumiko has dedicated herself to helping leaders at both the global and local levels by creating a deeper understanding of the impact of culture on behaviours, communication and management styles in order to unlock greater human potential.
With her futuristic and people-oriented approaches, Sumiko also applies cultural intelligence (CQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ) to extended areas including healthcare, technology development for wellness, humanity and ethics. Sumiko is a member of SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) and engages in the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems.
Sumiko holds a master degree in Business Administration from University of Windsor and B.A. in Sociology from Konan University in Japan. Sumiko is a certified consultant of Hofstede Insights and Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) by the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI.) She is fluent in English, Japanese and comfortable in French.
